How to Read the Test
A Risk of Ovarian Malignancy Algorithm (ROMA) classifies patients as being at low or high risk for malignant disease20
- ROMA calculates a risk of finding ovarian cancer during surgery
- ROMA classifies patients as being at low or high risk for malignant disease
The clinical study conclusions are as follows19
- In our study at a set specificity of 75% the sensitivity for epithelial ovarian cancer and low malignant potential tumors of the assay was 89% for all patients with a 94% Negative Predictive Value (NPV) for pre and post menopausal women.
- The following cutpoints were used to reach our set level of specificity when using the HE4 assay and the ARCHITECT CA125II assay.
- Premenopausal:
- ROMA Value ≥ 13.1% High risk of finding epithelial ovarian cancer
- ROMA Value < 13.1% Low risk of finding epithelial ovarian cancer
- Postmenopausal:
- ROMA Value ≥ 27.7% High risk of finding epithelial ovarian cancer
- ROMA Value < 27.7% Low risk of finding epithelial ovarian cancer
- Premenopausal:
